PA P.E.T.S. is a
nonprofit 501c3 corporation consisting of a board of directors, officers, and
members who donate their time and energy to help reduce the pet
overpopulation problem in our area. There are two branches that
serve this region, one for Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties
and one for Columbia and Montour counties. Each branch helps low income
individuals and families in those counties with the cost of spaying
or neutering their pets as well as educates the public on the
importance of spaying and neutering. By receiving reduced
fees from the local veterinary hospitals, we have either completely
paid for or partially paid for over 11,928 spay and neuter
operations since our inception in 1984. In 2007 between our two
branches, we helped to spay or neuter 1,457 dogs and cats.
Through the work of our
board, officers and members, we have created an annual budget funded by
donations, membership dues, and fundraising events. The monies
raised in each branch's counties go directly to their primary mission of low-cost spaying and
neutering and secondary mission of pet care
education.
