Funds to be used for low-cost spay/neuter program

LEWISBURG, PA – The Snyder/Union/Northumberland branch of PA P.E.T.S. will be holding their annual Dog Walk and Show & Go on Saturday, September 6 from 8 am to 4 pm at the Shikellamy State Park Marina in Sunbury.

There will be food, live music, local/regional animal rescue groups, and vendors with animal related merchandise. All the proceeds from the organization’s food stand and merchandise table will go towards their low-cost spay/neuter program for low income families in the three county area. Admission is free and there will be plenty of parking. The public is welcome to come and enjoy all the day’s events.

New this year is a Show & Go event sponsored by The Central PA Dog Training Club and The Williamsport Dog Training Club. The Show & Go will include Obedience, Rally, Agility, and Conformation (Fun Match Format). Registration will be from 9 am to noon with a 9:30 am start.

Everyone is welcome to be a part of the annual Dog Walk. This year it will be an informal dog walk - no registration required. Dog owners are free to walk around the park at their leisure with their dog. Those that donate money to the organization will receive a free dog walk bandana for their four legged friend.

The Susquehanna Trail Dog Training Club will be offering Therapy Dog and Canine Good Citizen testing at the event as well. Dogs being tested must be wearing a buckle collar or harness and owners must present proof of current rabies vaccination and dog license. Please call Connie Cuff at 570-286-9537 to register.

There are a few vendor/organization spaces still available. Animal related businesses or organizations can reserve a space by going to their web site, www.papets.org, and downloading the event application to pre-register.
